Further information

General note [London], [1809-ca. 1844]
The first 25 leaves are in one hand, probably of C.J. Fletcher [?], the composer of at least the first piece; the rest has been copied starting from the other end of the volume, mostly in the hand of G[eorge] Pigott
The name 'Fletcher' may be 'Fischer'; George Pigott was one of Dragonetti's oldest professional friends and was present at his death and funeral; he was at that time principal second violin in the opera band (see Palmer, F. Domenico Dragonetti in England. Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1997, p. 225)
With label inside front cover: 'I.C. Flack Music Binder, to H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, No. 40 Maiden Lane, Cov.t Gard.n'
f. 1 is dated 1809, and f. 23 1814; the music at the other end is from the 1840's, f. 47v being dated 1844
Acquired from W. Reeves, Bookseller, Special List 321, no. 2393
Description summary Collection of instrumental music by C.J. Fletcher [?], Purcell and Dragonetti. and arrangments by G(eorge) Pigott
